# Marine visual reconstruction, v23

Created for PANDA Mediterráneo, 2026-10-28.

- `reef-fish-atlas.png`: generated photographic-style references for Sarpa salpa, Diplodus sargus, Boops boops and Chromis chromis. The profiles supply colour and surface detail to original volumetric meshes; they are not documentary wildlife photographs.
- `pelagic-atlas.png`: generated surface references for bottlenose dolphin, swordfish and European sardine. Dolphin geometry, original UVs and horizontal flukes are preserved; the new reference is projected only onto its lateral torso.
- `limestone-albedo.png`: generated diffuse pitted Mediterranean limestone with subdued algae, mapped over original eroded reef geometry.

Generated with the image generation tool. Original outputs are used without offline image manipulation. Exact prompts are recorded in `PROMPTS.json`.

The Blue Marine Foundation's “The Sea We Breathe” informed the open rocky composition and the feeling of swimming through an entrance. Its 3D meshes, rock textures and fish assets have not been extracted or reused.

Existing fauna model licences and sources remain in `assets/fauna-v10/CREDITS.md` and `assets/pelagic-v13/CREDITS.md`. Previously approved whale assets remain in `assets/cetaceans-v21/CREDITS.md`.
